Bang the head against the wall/ Get the camel through the needle hole
I will certainly appreciate one thing about the legislator despite I feel bored about the debate on covert surveillance bill.
The Democratic Party's James To and Civic Party's Margaret Ng has proposed some 200 amendments to the bill. Indeed, it is highly likely that all of their amendments will be rejected because the government hold 30 iron votes in the LegCo. But they do not give up and keep canvassing support from other legislators.
It needs courage and determination to bang the head against the wall, or get the camel through the needle hole.
Sadly, I can only hear comments like ``These people have nothing to do and only make chaos'' when I am back home.
We always tend to choose an easy path when we are faced with difficulties. Then, we just complain that we are not lucky for a prosperous future. But we have not realised what we lack is courage.
I may not fully support the political ideas of the two legislators. But I certainly appreciate their attitude, while feeling sorry for them.
Their efforts and contributions to improve the legislation will not be remembered even though the government is taken to court again in the future for the inadequacies of the law. This makes me feel sad.
